DESCRIPTION:For details please contact Ferris Anthony\n\nHello All\,\n\nI’m excited to say that this will be our 21st Annual AHS and Sportsmen Fishing Derby!!!\nThis year’s Derby will be on Saturday\, March 21\, 2026 and in case of very poor weather or unsafe fishing conditions\, the backup date will be Saturday\, April 11\,  2026.  Please block off both dates; it’s difficult to refund money because the hoodie order is personally sized. I’m happy to say the entry fee this year still remains at $50.00 per person.\nWhen you register\, I’ll need to know:\n—the name of your boat\n—the names of who will be fishing on your boat\n—what size hoodie to order for each person\nI’ll need this info before February 21\, 2026 to assure hoodie arrival before the big day.\nSince the law has changed\, we’re no longer permitted to keep the sturgeon and therefore bring it to the weigh-in. I came up with a plan that seemed to work very well last year. Below are the details to refresh your memory…\n\nI’ve ordered a tape measure with our derby logo on it for each boat that has signed up for our Derby.\nIf you catch a sturgeon that measures between 40 inches and 55 inches\, you’ll need to take a picture of you with the fish being measured by the tape measure that was provided to you. All three elements must be in the photo—you\, the fish and the measuring tape. This will qualify you for the next step.\nAt 5:00pm when we gather for what would usually have been the weigh-in\, I’ll draw a number between 40 and 55 and whoever has the closest photo of their fish to that length will be the winner and same with second place.
